The Whatcom Human Rights Task Force, in conjunction with the Lummi Nation, invite the general public to attend a presentation about issues currently facing Lummi Nation. The presentation will be held in the Bellingham Public Library downstairs meeting room.
The presentation will include discussion of the Sandy Point Tidelands controversy and the Semiahmoo reburial project, among other issues. The two groups' goal is to open a dialog about issues concerning Lummi Nation and the surrounding communities; as well as to educate the broader community on ways it can support Lummi Nation.
Presenters from Lummi Nation include Tribal Chairman Willie Jones and Anthropologist Sharon Kinley. A Question and answer session will occur after the presentations.
