AAUW
classism discussion with speaker, Rouha Rose
February 8 - Saturday -10am to noon
The Bellingham Branch of the American Association of University
Women sponsor guest speaker Rouha Rose with a discussion of classism.
Ms. Rose is AAUW WA State Diversity Chair.
She
states, "Classism is an obsolete status system that keeps
many individuals from achieving their full potential. In a nation
that is struggling to learn how to educate every child to his
full potential and which needs every contribution to human well
being, classism is illogical and counterproductive. In economics,
class is a matter of money but in societies, it is divisive in
every facet of everyday life. We can rid ourselves and our world
of this costly and barbaric prejudice."
Mrs.
Rose holds degrees in sociology and social work and is the third
generation of her family to be involved in human rights work, as
are her children and grandchildren.
The public is invited. There is no charge.
Location:
Quality Inn Baron Suites
100 E. Kellogg Rd
Bellingham
